My Story

Raised on one legendary tailwater. Living on another.

Certified Casting Instructor Candidate · Fly Fishers International (FFI)
The guide on the water with family
Where it began

It started on the Little Red.

I grew up in Heber Springs, Arkansas, fishing the Little Red River with my dad. My grandfather gave me my first fly rod, and I still remember catching my first fish on a dry fly one mid-spring afternoon — that moment is why I do this.

I spent years watching serious anglers from the bank, piecing the craft together one cast at a time. The Little Red — once home to the world record brown trout — was the perfect classroom.

The road to Branson

From Arkansas to the Ozarks.

2001 · College of the Ozarks

I moved to Branson, Missouri in 2001 to attend College of the Ozarks, where I played baseball and earned a degree in Criminal Justice. I fell hard for Lake Taneycomo and fished it every chance I got.

Law school · Michigan

I headed to Michigan for law school — but the rivers of the Ozarks never let go. I always knew I'd find my way back to the water.

2013 · Home to Branson

In 2013 I came back to Branson for good. Today I guide both Taneycomo and the Little Red — my wife Miranda and our two daughters fly fish right alongside me. I'm also a Certified Casting Instructor Candidate through Fly Fishers International (FFI), sharpening the craft so I can teach it better.

How I guide

My philosophy on the water.

For every angler, every level

From first cast to seasoned angler, it doesn't matter where you're starting — I'll meet you where you are. If you want to learn the basics, we'll start there. If you want to sharpen your technique, we'll go deeper. The goal is always the same: a great day on the water.

Local knowledge that goes deep

Two rivers, decades of days on each. I know the runs, the seams, the generation patterns, and the seasonal moods that you only learn by living on the water.

Conservation as identity

Every trip is catch-and-release, every time. These fisheries gave me my life's passion — protecting them so the next generation can fall in love the same way isn't optional, it's who we are.

A family on the water

This is more than a job.

My daughters cast right next to me. Miranda's out there too. Fly fishing is woven through our family — and when you book a trip, you're stepping into that same tradition for a day.

First fish on a fly rod. Family outing. Anniversary trip. Solo getaway. Whatever brings you to the water — I'm just glad it brought you here.
